I made these cupcakes for my nieces and nephews for the Halloween. They were banana cake flavor with vanilla (orange) and chocolate (black) frosting as the spider webs. They all loved it. We went to trick or treat in their neighborhood and the weather was beautiful around 50'F (10'C) and clear sky. They got so many candies that they almost could not carry all the goodies home. It was just a fun Halloween this year.
Next time, try making the cupcakes with pumpkin spice. You can still use the banana cake recipe, just add a cup of prepared pumpkin and reduce the added liquid so that you get the proper consistency. The resulting product is insanely moist. You can also add a drop of cinnamon oil to the frosting to give it a bit of a kick.
They do look lovely though. I'm sure your nieces & nephews loved them!
